Media Release - 2010 Scenic Music Awards Now Open

The Scenic Music awards were successfully launched in October 2009. The awards are a great way of recognizing and highlighting the diverse music talent that is in the Scenic Rim regional area.

”I am excited to announce that entries are now open for the 2010 music awards”, Beau FM president Michael Bassett said. “The awards bring out a wealth of musical talent we have right here in our own region”.

The award divisions announced by Scenic Music are the same as last year, except with the addition of a new category for high school songwriters. The other awards categories are, Under 26s Songwriting, Open Songwriting, Life Time Achievement, Under 26s Music Achievement, Instrumentalist/Vocalist, Music Video, Community Group Music Performance.

A date has been set to announce the 2010 award winners at a special gala presentation night. This night is Saturday 23rd October at The Centre in Beaudesert.

“We’ve made sure that there is something for every aged musician”, Scenic Music Chair John Robinson said. “We encourage all musicians to place multiple entries for the 2010 awards.

The three songwriting award winners will each win a four hour recording and mixing package from Beau FM and Song Doctor Productions to have songs of their choice professionally recorded.  Each package is valued at $500.

“We urge all musicians to consider their recen

t and life long musical achievements and nominate for at least one award”, Scenic Music’s Nigel Stephens said. “As it doesn’t cost anything, why wouldn’t our regional musicians want to enter the awards?”

The 2010 Scenic Music awards are free to enter.  Go to Beau FM’s website, www.beaufm.org.au for more information and to download entry forms.

Local Musicians - Expressions of Interest to play Scenic Music Awards

Scenic Music and Beau FM, along with various local businesses and the Scenic Rim Regional Council will present the 2010 Scenic Music awards. Expressions of interest are now being sought from musicians to perform on the awards night.

“We are seeking expressions of interest from the many talented musicians in our region to perform at this year’s awards ceremony,” Michael Bassett, Beau FM president said. “We want to encourage the best of our musicians to offer to perform on the night”.

The Scenic Music awards ceremony is on Saturday night 23rd October, and held at The Centre in Beaudesert.

“Performing on the stage at The Centre is always a thrill for our musicians as it has a wonderfully warm sound and great acoustics”, John Robinson, Scenic Music chair said. “Playing to a home crowd is also a big thing for local musicians and there aren’t that many opportunities to do this”.
